What is Freeview?
Freeview is a free digital TV service available through an aerial. A new aerial may cost between £130-250 fitted.
How much does it cost?
To get Freeview there is a one-off payment for the digital TV or box
Standard digital boxes start from around £25 Freeview+ Digital TV recorders start from around £80
Digital TVs that have Freeview built-in are available from around £100 to £1000
There is no subscription cost
What equipment do I need?
You will need a digital box or TV recorder or alternatively you can get a TV which has Freeview already built in (All new TV sets have Freeview)
A Freeview+ TV recorder allows you to record one channel whilst watching another, pause TV and record programmes at the touch of a button
How is it installed?
You just connect the box or TV direct to your rooftop aerial and tune-in

your aerial may need upgrading
What is Freesat?
Freesat is a digital satellite service available to all of the UK
How much does it cost?
There is a one off payment for a digital box or freesat TV
If your home does not already have a working satellite dish, installation of a new satellite dish will cost approximately £130
There is no monthly subscription and no contract - all viewing is free
What equipment do I need?
You will need a freesat digital box and a fully installed satellite dish
To watch TV in HD you will need a freesat HD box or a TV with freesat HD built in
How is it installed?
If you have a working satellite dish on your home we can install and tune-in your equipment for a minimal cost
If you do not have a dish we can supply and install one for you
How many channels will I get?
More than 100 digital TV channels including entertainment films and news and HD channels from BBC and ITV
Does Freesat offer a high definition service?
Yes freesat offers free HD service

What is Sky & SkyQ?
Sky & SkyQ is a TV service through a satellite dish
Sky also offers customers a broadband and telephone service when they buy a TV package
How much does it cost?
Sky TV is a pay monthly service
Packages range from around £20 a month
Standard dish installation costs from £150 - non standard Sky+ costs around £180

A Sky or SkyQ box and dish
How is Sky installed?
Sky TV is installed using an externally mounted dish and a Sky box connected to your TV
How many channels will I get?
Depending on which package you choose you can get up to 200 pay channels digital TV channels plus more than 250 free-to-air channels
Does Sky offer a high definition service?
Yes, Sky offer High Definition and UHD TV. To get this you will need an HD/UHD ready TV and a Sky HD SkyQ box
HD subscription is required at an extra £10-12 a month
What is hd & UHD?
HD & UHD Stands for High Definition/Ultra High Definition. It offers much better picture quality than standard definition by way of using more pixels on your TV screen. This makes your picture look much sharper and clearer.
You will see much better background detail as well as brighter more vivid colours. HD is most noticeable when you switch between a High Definition (HD/UHD) and Standard Definition (SD) picture
